First degree black belt under Lachlan Giles with 13 years of Jiu Jitsu experience and a professional MMA record, Sean has trained and coached some of the best grappling and MMA fighters in the country.

Born in the Victorian Alps in early ‘23, Alpine MMA is the brain child of Sean Le Gourrierec, who started the club after finishing a 10 year coaching career at Australia’s Premiere Grappling and MMA gym, Absolute MMA. During Sean’s coaching career at Absolute, he was able to learn and develop his craft of Jiu Jitsu with some of the best Grapplers and MMA fighters in the country including Craig Jones, Alexander Volkanovski, Lachlan Giles, Izaak Michell just to name a few.

Sean’s passion for the outdoors, family life, MMA and Jiu Jitsu lead him, and his family, towards a well needed tree change from the ‘big smoke’ out to Alpine Victoria and NSW.

Since the move, Sean has attracted a small team of grappling competitors and enthusiasts, as well as teaching jiu jitsu to families and kids within the local community.

After only a few months, Alpine MMA is already gaining credibility as one of the best places to train in Albury NSW and NE Victoria for new-comers and competitors a-like.
