Our Classes
Jiu Jitsu
Known as the ‘Gentle Art’, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is widely recognised as one of the most effective Martial Arts. Originating in Japan, and developed in Brazil, Jiu Jitsu has become a staple for MMA fighters, police officers, military and security personnel for its effectiveness in controlling, and submitting opponents.
Jiu Jitsu utilises a combination of grappling techniques including wrestling, joint breaks/locks, chokes, strangles, and leverage to maximise an advantage over larger opponents.
At Alpine MMA we practice no-gi Jiu Jitsu which does not utilize a traditional Gi (think karate outfit). Expect to learn how to move better, and develop practical martial arts skills through drilling and rolling. Suitable for all levels including those with no prior martial arts training.
If it’s your first time book a FREE WEEK TRIAL of our Introductory Classes, and check out our TIMETABLE below.
Kids class
We develop foundational body control movements essential in the art of Jiu Jitsu and transferable to other walks of life, rolling, falling, bending and moving through all planes of movements.
Kids will develop an understanding of Jiu Jitsu techniques relevant for controlling opponents as well as submissions useful in self defence applications, and also develop confidence through training the martial art.

Competition Squad
For jiu jitsu competitors and aspiring competitors alike, we offer Competition Squad training which is by application or invitation only. These sessions are limited to our comp team to keep the quality of our specific training high. With numbers limited in our comp squad we are able to address specific dilema’s on a group and individual level. The comp squad’s overall performance and feedback direct the majority of our training here.
